This workshop is a hands-on introduction to making films and TV production. During the day, students work in teams to come up with ideas for a short narrative sequence. After being taught some basic camera skills, students will then shoot the footage. A brief overview of very basic editing techniques in our Apple Mac suite is also given, allowing students to edit their shots into a sequence. Finally, they can then add music and sound to their piece.

Introducing the world of mathematics with fun and stimulating problems and puzzles, this workshop provides students with ideas about a range of career possibilities open to mathematics and statistics graduates, from the financial world to the latest research projects. Students also learn how mathematicians think and how they shape the world we live in.
