Preparation for the UCAS application process is an important time for students considering Higher Education. With competition high for university places, creating the perfect application will increase your students' chances of being accepted by their preferred university. To support this process we have developed the following sessions to support you and your students.
We help students understand what makes a good personal statement. In this session your students will begin drafting their personal statements based on helpful information and knowledge from our admissions tutors.
This interactive session informs students and/or their parents about the funding available to support them through university. We also provide a budget planning activity to help students learn how to manage their finances.
Interview Techniques
Passing an interview is mandatory for entry on to many programmes such as teaching, nursing and architecture. This interactive session gives students vital feedback about their own personal styles with the opportunity to further develop interview skills.
The personal references that you write for your students will help admissions tutors decide the quality of the candidate they are assessing for entry to their university. In this workshop for teachers and tutors, we will offer advice and guidance to help you write effective personal references.
This is for teachers, career advisers, Connexions personal advisers and all staff involved in teaching or advising post-16 students interested in health and social care. These sessions give advisers the opportunity to discuss programme content with health and social care lecturers and find out about recent developments in the sector. The afternoon sessions involve hands-on, interactive workshops that enable practitioners to sample activities in new skills laboratories.
Participants will be able to choose from two of the following sessions:
