  • Further Information

Paramedics are key members of the 21st-century NHS and have a dynamic and challenging role requiring diverse skills and expertise. These two programmes have been developed in partnership with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (for Avery Hill) and the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (for Medway). They meet the requirements of the Health Professions Council (HPC), the body that regulates the profession.

The programmes appeal to a variety of individuals with varied employment and academic backgrounds, ages and experiences. You should appreciate that quality and standards are crucial to the development of the paramedic profession. You should also wish to gain a qualification that is both academic and vocational.

Aims of the programme

  • Prepare you to apply for registration with the HPC as a registered paramedic.
  • Develop the personal and professional skills required to undertake the role and
    responsibilities of a registered paramedic.
  • Explore experiences and knowledge of multi-professional teamwork. This
includes collaborative working practices, and partnerships with service users and
    carers
