The study of philosophy trains students to examine the basic assumptions that many other disciplines take for granted. For example, rather than asking whether a particular claim is true or false, philosophy asks whether truth is a legitimate concept. By reading the philosophers who have considered these issues, we learn how to break problems down to their basic constituents and acquire the ability to scrutinise and assess arguments.
Philosophy courses are taught by the School of Humanities at the Greenwich Campus. Depending on your selected combination you may be required to travel between campuses.
