These programmes are approved as fully satisfying the educational base for an Engineering Technician (EngTech) and approved as partially satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). A programme of accredited further learning will be required to complete the educational base for IEng.

These programmes help students to develop practical knowledge and design skills, and improve communication and organisational abilities through team-based projects.

Students can also take individual study courses to improve their qualifications or update their skills. Successful students often transfer to the second stage of honours degree programmes.
