Summer University

If you are looking for a short course, you might like to consider our Summer University. As well as developing essential study skills, you get to experience university life at a fraction of the cost of a longer course.

Courses run from 27 June to 6 July and 31 August to 7 September, and are available mornings, afternoons and evenings, subject to student demand.

Attendance and accreditation

All Summer University courses are worth 10 credits. Students who successfully complete one or two courses and submit an assessment portfolio are awarded a Certificate of Credit in Higher Education. Students who achieve 30 credits in one phase of the Summer University, i.e. June or September, are awarded a University Certificate in Continuing Education.

Please note that Summer University courses do not count towards University of Greenwich clearing entry requirements.

This year, students will have to pay £250 for each 10-credit course.

Courses on offer at Level 1:
Academic Report Writing, Effective Writing, English for Study, GCSE Maths Equivalency, Introduction to Critical thinking and Oral Communication & Presentation Skills.

Course on offer at Level 2:
Dissertations: Getting Started and Research Skills

Most courses run between 10am–1pm, 2–5pm, or 6–9pm, over a one- or two-week period.
