Applied Professional Studies (APS) at the University of Greenwich is split into three distinct packages of learning, known as programmes, each of which leads to an award.
Each programme is split into courses that are worth specific amounts of credit. These include:
The curriculum for each course is set out in learning outcomes.
Students gain awards by accumulating credit, which is usually offered in timetabled courses worth 30 higher education (HE) credits each. Once students pass the assessment for a course, they are credited for it.
If you wish to obtain an honours degree, you will first need to take a foundation degree (Fd Applied Professional Studies). This is worth 240 credits in total: 120 credits at HE level 1 and 120 credits at HE level 2.
Once you have completed the foundation degree, you can study for an honours degree, (either BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) Applied Professional Studies), which is worth a further 120 credits. If you already have sufficient HE credit, you may be admitted straight on to the honours programme and will only need to pay the fee for this part of the programme.
On completion of an honours degree, or if you already hold an existing honours degree, you can join the Master’s degree programme and study for a postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Master’s (MA or MSc).
You can also use an existing Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, or a professional qualification towards a Master’s award.
