The University of Greenwich welcomes students from Norway studying foundation, undergraduate (Bachelor) degree, and postgraduate (Master’s) degree programmes.

To join our programmes you will need to meet both academic and English language entry requirements before you start the programme. You need not wait until you satisfy all the entry requirements before you apply to study with us.

Entry requirements

Foundation and undergraduate degrees

For entry to Year 1 of three year Bachelor degree programmes, you will need:

  • To have passed the Vitnemal fra den Videregaende and
  • Have an IELTS of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent or TOEFL of 80 ibt (or 213 cbt)

Advanced standing to Year 2 or to Year 3 is possible if you have completed one or two years of a relevant degree in Norway. You will need an IELTS of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent or TOEFL of 93 (with a minimum R22, L21, S23, W21).

Master’s degrees

For entry to our Master’s programmes, you will need to have:

  • An IELTS of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent or TOEFL of 93 (with a minimum R22, L21, S23, W21) and
  • To have a Candidatus Magisterii (minimum 2.7) or, since 2003, a degree (minimum C-D) from a recognised university in Norway. (An International Foundation Programmes (Advanced) is available to graduates who have an IELTS of 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in each component or equivalent and who wish to prepare themselves for postgraduate study).

Certain programmes have special requirements. For example, applicants for the MBA programmes must have two to three years' full-time management work experience after graduation at an appropriate level as well as an IELTS of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent; and those for architecture need to submit a portfolio of their work.

English language courses

Summer pre-sessional English language courses and International Foundation Programmes are available.
