Working towards the award of a postgraduate degree is a rich and fulfilling experience. Our research students not only achieve, they achieve well. You will develop high-level, transferable skills and knowledge that will be in demand both within the academic community, and by business and industry.
Research programmes at Greenwich are leading edge, making original contributions to knowledge, advancing business practice, influencing policy and setting standards in the wider community for the UK and worldwide.
The University of Greenwich's preferred route to the award of a PhD is, in the first instance, registration for an MPhil. Dependant on good progress, you may then be able to transfer to a PhD. You will be assigned supervisors whose roles are to guide and advise you while acting as a sounding board for your ideas as you progress through your research.
The maximum timescales for the completion of a PhD are five years for full-time study and six years if you are studying part-time.
