Mobile Learning Research Group

The number of people who have access to a mobile internet enabled device has significantly increased over the past few years. The 2011 Horizon Report highlighted this as a significant emergent educational technology, noting that mobile devices are increasingly the first choice for Internet access and by 2015, 80% of people accessing the internet will do so using mobile technology.

The aim of this research cluster is to develop evidence-informed strategies and practical applications to support staff and students in this growing area via two work streams - (1) infrastructure and support and (2) pedagogical application and development. Drawing on current understanding, primary-source research and best practice, the members of this cluster will explore solutions and enhancements that inform teaching, learning, assessment and research in Higher Education.
