The university employs approximately 2,000 staff in teaching, research and support staff roles and offers unique working environments at all our three Campuses.
We want our staff to enjoy a healthy work / life balance. Annual leave entitlements vary depending on your position and years of service, ranging from 26 to 35 days. In addition, you get eight days' statutory holidays, and most staff benefit from extra leave over the Christmas and New Year break. Administrative and support staff normally work 35 hours a week, and we are always willing to explore part-time working and job sharing arrangements.
We know that raising a family can be a costly and demanding business. To help, staff can receive childcare vouchers, which are non taxable and exempt from National Insurance, in return for "sacrificing" part of their salary. We also offer additional weeks at full pay for maternity, paternity and adoption leave, and fathers and birth support partners are given greater flexibility about how they can take their leave.
And because we know that life isn't all about what you do in the workplace, we offer five days' paid leave if you are studying for exams and the same if you take part in voluntary public duties, such as school governorships.
The University of Greenwich is a great place to work – both for the quality of its teaching and the opportunities that come with living in this part of the world. While the university is very modern in its approach to learning, research and business enterprise, some of its buildings are among the most beautiful and historic in the country.
