Financial support is available for disabled full-time, part-time and postgraduate home students via Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs). DSAs can pay for specialist equipment, human support, travel or other extra costs (directly resulting from your disability or long term medical condition) that you may have in order to attend your course.
Please note: EU and international students are not eligible for DSAs, but if you are an EU /international student and have concerns about your finances, you can make an appointment to see a finance or disability & dyslexia adviser at your campus Student Centre.
Having completed and sent your Disabled Students' Allowances form to the relevant funder, you will receive a request to attend an assessment of needs at an assessment centre to discuss appropriate support. You can attend your assessment of needs interview on campus at the Maritime Assessment Centre.
