Student finance package and loans

In the vast majority of cases, if you are about to start a full-time programme, you are entitled to a loan and grant package from the government.

Student support for 2011-12 consists of:

  • A fee loan for tuition fees (up to £3.375 per year in 2011-12).
  • A maintenance loan for living expenses of up to: 
    • £6,928 for students living away from home studying in London
    • £3,838 for students living at home 
    • £4,950 for students living away from home and studying outside London
    • Non-repayable maintenance grant for eligible students from lower income households (up to £2,906 per year).

How to apply

You can apply online for standard student finance support for the following types of finance:

  • Fee loan for tuition fees
  • Student loan for living expenses.
