Students who have fully registered and have a picture on our system are eligible for a student ID card. All official student ID cards for both new and continuing students are printed by the Card Services Bureau and despatched through the post. The address that the card is sent to depends on the student’s situation as follows:
Student attending the majority of colleges in the official partner institution list will receive their student ID card directly through the post.
The exception to this are students of:
who should collect their student ID card directly from their college.
Student attending colleges on the official network/link institution list should collect their student ID card directly from their college.*
* Exception: students at St Vincent College receive their student ID cards through the post.
All other students have the ID card sent to them directly as long as they have a current address in the UK to send it to. This may be either a mailing address, term-time address or permanent address. When there is a choice between these alternatives the priority is always as follows:
The remaining students are those who are not at one of the specified colleges above and who do not have any UK address at the time of completing their registration.
The ID Card for these students is sent to the Student Centre at one of the three main sites. This is the Centre with responsibility for the student’s primary programme. The Student Centre staff will contact the student to collect the card.
In rare cases a student at a collaborative college abroad provides a photo along with their registration in order to receive a card. The card is sent to the Student Centre as there is no UK address. The Student Centre keeps it for collection.
