Psychometric tests are often used by recruiters as part of the selection process for graduate schemes.

Psychometric tests are structured exercises designed to measure and clarify different aspects of what makes you the person you are. Employers use these test along with interviews and application forms to help them choose the most appropriate person for the job. They can be used at any time during a company’s recruitment process, for example as an initial filter to see if you can proceed to the next stage of the selection process, or used as part of an Assessment Centre.
Employers are looking at the way you approach a task, what knowledge, skills and experience you have, as well as what you are capable of doing. A psychometric test shows your ‘style’- what motivates or de-motivates you, how you would relate to your future colleagues and your organization skills.
In addition to the Graduate First online test linked at the foot of this page, there are a number of external websites that will allow you to practice a range of tests.
