About the JobShop

We are an employment service for students and recent graduates (up to two years after completion) of the University  of Greenwich, where part-time, vacation and graduate jobs are advertised both on our website and in the various JobShop offices found on each campus. Through the website GET Online, JobShop advertises a wide range of local and national vacancies throughout the year, including casual positions within the university itself.

In addition to organising various campus recruitment fairs, JobShop operates a drop-in service for students to have CV's and application forms checked, to obtain information and advice about many employment-related matters, such as income tax, national insurance and issues surrounding international students’ rights to work in the UK. JobShop also recruits and operates a team of student workers who are able to work for the University departments on a short-term basis.

We operate a full code of practice to protect both the rights of employers and our students. With this in mind, we advise that students should work no more than 20 hours per week during term time. At the JobShop we do not advertise vacancies that promise commission or bonuses and we do not advertise vacancies which pay less than the national minimum wage.
