The Application Flowchart shows what steps students need to take to move in to hall

2. As current students who, during an academic session, wish to move into halls

3. As current students, continuing their studies in the next academic year, who would like a place in hall

1. New students

After receiving confirmation of a place on a course, most new students will:
  • Decide on their preferred hall of residence
  • Submit an on-line application to Accommodation Services
  • Receive an acknowledgment
  • Receive a formal offer of accommodation (when they have an admission status of UFA)
  • Send in their confirmed acceptance, deposit payment, etc.
  • Receive a receipt and arrival instructions

There will be some variations for those students applying or qualifying late. Most importantly applicants must update the accommodation service with any changes in their personal circumstances or their personal contact details.

2. Current Students

After deciding in which hall they want to live, most current students will:
  • Submit an on-line application to Accommodation Services
  • Have their names placed on a waiting list (students will be contacted regularly to see if they wish to keep their name on the waiting list)
  • Receive a formal offer of a room when a vacancy arises
  • Confirm their acceptance and pay the deposit, etc.
  • Agree a date on which they can move in
  • Move into halls (after signing Licence Agreement, etc.)

There will be some variations for students applying after the second semester (when there is not usually a waiting list) and for students who are taking over the licence from a current resident. The Accommodation Offices hold details of students who would like to vacate their rooms and current students can collect these lists in order to make direct contact with those residents.
