Alumni Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a copy of my university transcript and/or degree certificate?

Copies of degree certificates and transcripts are not issued by the Alumni and Development Office.

All transcript enquiries are dealt with by the Students Records Office. Duplicate certificate enquiries are dealt with by the Conferments Office.

How do I become a member of the Alumni Association?

As a former student you are automatically a member of the Alumni Association. Membership is free and entitles you to certain benefits and services.

To keep you informed of these entitlements, we will need your contact details. Please update your details online or via e-mail at alumni@gre.ac.uk. Alternatively, you can telephone the Alumni and Development Office on +44 (0) 20 8331 9468.

I have lost contact with an old friend from university. Can you help find them?

The Alumni & Development Office maintains a database of all former students of the university. In accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act we do not give out contact details, without prior permission from our alumni. However, if we have a postal address, e-mail or telephone number for the person you are trying to trace, we are happy to contact them on your behalf. To arrange this, telephone the office on +44 (0) 20 8331 7836 or via e-mail alumni@gre.ac.uk.

Alternatively you can search our directory of Greenwich alumni to see if your friends have posted their details online. Find out about other benefits and services.

As a former student, can I still have access to the university’s library?

Yes, you have free reading rights in the university libraries. Borrowing rights are also available at a discounted alumni rate of £50 per annum. You will need an alumni card to gain access to the libraries.

Can I use the university's computing facilities?

Unfortunately, due to the university’s licensing obligations, alumni currently cannot access computer laboratories, the internet or any electronic information products, other than on-line catalogues.

Can I use university’s sports facilities?

Yes, please contact the Alumni Office for an alumni card.

I have not received my copy of Meantime magazine – what should I do?

If you have not received Meantime for a while, this probably means we do not have your most recent contact details. You can update your details online. Alternatively, you can telephone the office on +44 (0) 20 8331 7836 or e-mail alumni@gre.ac.uk.
