Travelling by air and sea

All our campuses are all within a reasonable travelling distance of international airports.

London Heathrow

You can catch the tube from Heathrow or take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington Station. Tickets for the Heathrow Express are more expensive but trains leave every 15 minutes and the journey only takes 15 minutes.

London Gatwick

The Gatwick Express train runs every 15 minutes and takes 30 minutes to London Victoria.

London Stansted

The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes to London Liverpool Street Station and takes 45 minutes.

London Luton

Trains run regularly from the airport into Central London.

London City Airport

This is located within ten miles of the Greenwich and Avery Hill campuses. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) runs from this airport to Greenwich.

National Express and Green Line also run coach services to and from a number of UK airports.

If you are travelling with luggage, you may find it easier to take the last leg of your journey from the station by taxi.

Travelling by ferry

The following companies offer channel ferry services to Dover:

  • P&O Ferries
  • SeaFrance Ferries
  • Speed Ferries
  • Direct Ferries

To get from Dover to the Greenwich and Avery Hill campuses, take a train to London Bridge, Charing Cross or Victoria Station, then use local rail or bus services. If you are travelling to Medway, you can get a train direct to Chatham station from Dover, Folkestone or Ramsgate.

Travelling by Channel Tunnel

The Eurostar takes passengers by high-speed rail direct to London St. Pancras Station. You will then need to catch public transport to the campus.

Route planner

If you are travelling by car, the AA website has a useful route planner. The Greenwich Campus is approximately 70 miles from Dover, Avery Hill is 65 miles away and Medway 50 miles.
