Administrator
Greenwich Maritime Institute
BA Hons, MSc
Suzanne Louail joined the Greenwich Maritime Institute (GMI) as its administrator in 2004. Her job is to keep everyone and everything in the GMI organised. She has a BA in Business Studies and an MSc in Education Management.
The focus of her MSc dissertation was on the sustainability of maritime business education in UK universities. Suzanne therefore has a good understanding of maritime education and also the pressures of being a postgraduate student.
As well as ensuring that the GMI office runs smoothly, Suzanne takes a leading role in organising the various conferences, symposiums, public lectures/seminars and other events that the GMI hosts. She is on the directorate for the London Universities Maritime Law and Policy Group and provides the administrative support for the Greenwich Forum. Recently she was also the Centenary Administrator for the Society for Nautical Research.
Suzanne represents the GMI at various committees including the campus health and safety committee, Moodle migration group, telephone migration group, Parablis liaison group and also acts as sustainability champion.
From December 2011 Suzanne has been the Project and Communications Manager for the EU funded GIFS Project which will be ongoing until 2014.
