MA, PhD, Hon DSc, Master Mariner

Professor Alastair D. Couper was a Ships Officer and student at the University of Aberdeen. He then occupied the post of Research Scholar working on Pacific Studies at the Australian National University before returning to the UK to become a Lecturer at the University of Durham. Alastair later became a Professor and worked at both the University of Cardiff and the World Maritime University in Sweden.
