Research consultancy

Individually tailored in-service work

The Centre for Leadership & Enterprise can develop bespoke courses for individual schools or colleges. Examples include:

  • Middle management courses for schools
  • Education Action Zone support
  • Special educational needs
  • Pre-Ofsted review and development

Southern Educational Leadership Trust (SELT)

SELT is a consortium of Higher Education Institutions and Local Education Authorities based in Sittingbourne.

Currently SELT delivers the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) programme for the National Leadership College throughout the south east and has also provided performance management consultants for schools in the south east over the past two years in fulfilment of a Department for Education and Schools (DfES) contract.

Members of the department are contracted to work for SELT as appropriate. The training manager of the NPQH programme is a member of the department.

Research and development

Staff are active in a variety of research and development projects in the UK, Europe and beyond. Recent particular interests have been in the areas of Health and Safety in Education, Literacy, Urban Education, Special Educational Needs, and Further and Higher Education.
