A short informal concert, The Tsar of Deptford, is to be staged by trainee music teachers tomorrow (Friday, September 16) at 3.15pm.
It marks the period in 1698 when Peter the Great lived incognito in Deptford, South London. Peter, Tsar of Russia, came to the UK to study new developments in technology, especially shipbuilding.
The concert will include collaboratively composed and improvised music by students studying for the joint University of Greenwich/Trinity Laban PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) Musicians in Education teacher training qualification.
The venue is the Queen’s House, the National Maritime Museum, which is close to the Greenwich Campus. Entry is free.
