The Work & Employment Research Unit (WERU) is based at the University of Greenwich's Business School and, along with two other research clusters, submitted their research for the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
The RAE result (announced in December 2008) indicated that 60 per cent of the Business School's research was 2-star and above (internationally recognised) and a further 30 per cent was 1-star (nationally recognised).
Five per cent was deemed to be world leading. In addition, in further feedback it was said that the "strategic emphasis on policy focus, and influencing national and regional government is reflected in funding sources and is assessed as of a standard of international excellence".
