Open DaysExpert advice for careers in nursing, health, social care and more is on offer at next month's University of Greenwich Health & Social Care Open Evenings.

There are two events taking place on Wednesday 12 July at the Avery Hill and Medway campuses, between 4pm and 8pm. All prospective students are welcome to come and meet staff from the university's Faculty of Education & Health.

Experts will be on hand to help build a successful application. Visitors will also be able to tour the facilities, which include a simulated hospital ward at Avery Hill, and receive information on courses. There will be advice available on fees and bursaries, including changes to the NHS funding system.

The university's academic staff will be there to discuss their programmes and the career options available.

In the David Fussey Building, on the Southwood Site of the Avery Hill Campus, there will be information on courses in nursing (adult, child, learning disability and mental health), midwifery, paramedic science, and social work. Visitors can tour the campus, view the accommodation, take part in interview workshops and get advice on university applications.

The Nelson Building, on the Medway Campus, will have information on adult nursing, speech and language therapy, and paramedic science. Partners, parents and friends are welcome to attend these events.

"Our Open Evenings are designed to give students the best possible idea of what it would be like to study here," says Robert Mayor, the university's Director of Communications & Recruitment. "We pride ourselves on being welcoming, as well as offering excellent advice and a hands-on experience."

The University of Greenwich is home to more than 21,250 students, drawn from 150 countries. It was recently named as one of the "most international" universities on the planet, with a further 15,500 students studying with a range of partner institutions from across the globe.
