Osborne ScholarshipOne of the UK's leading construction companies is again investing in University of Greenwich talent.

Now in its third year, the £9,000 Osborne scholarship has been awarded to Tom Lovelady, a second year Quantity Surveying student (BSc Hon).

Tom was successful after seeing off competition from other students on academic tests and writing a statement on how the award would help his career. He said: "It has been amazing to be receive this scholarship, which will really help my degree and my future.

"Knowing I will not have to worry about money so much is a good feeling. And having the opportunity to learn more about the industry, outside of lectures, from the Osborne staff is invaluable."

Sarah Cretch, Head of Alumni & Development, says: "Many of our students face real financial hardship but they are investing in their future by studying. The donation from Osborne helps them achieve their academic potential while providing a stepping stone to their future career through Osborne's industry contacts. We are extremely grateful for these scholarships, which have all had a huge positive impact on the winners."

Osborne completed the university's award-winning Stockwell Street building, where Tom will be studying. Business Improvement Manager, Andy Burrows, adds: "We are tremendously proud to be continuing our support of scholarship students.

"Tom was a very deserving candidate and we are delighted he was successful. We look forward to seeing him progress and working with him on a potential summer placement in 2017."
