A training and networking event focused on women-run businesses is being held at the historic University of Greenwich campus at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, on Friday, 6 November.
The half-day Women in Business Forum will feature training seminars in cost-effective marketing and how to access all-important funding. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with women business owners, support agencies and organisations at the event, which is being hosted by the university’s Business School in association with CNT Associates.
Keynote speeches will be delivered by: successful entrepreneur Melanie Howard, co-founder of the Future Foundation, a specialist trends forecasting business that she sold to global information giant Experian in 2005; and Nick Raynsford, MP for Greenwich and Woolwich. Zoe Brown, from business support organisation Business Link, will also be taking a session.
Central to the event are two training workshops of particular interest in the current economic downturn:
Organiser Matt Housden, Principal Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Greenwich Business School, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for women running their own business or thinking of doing so to get practical and inspiring advice.
“The talks and workshops couldn’t be more relevant and with exhibitors and networking there is plenty packed into half a day so it represents fantastic value. Tickets are always in demand and places are limited so booking ahead is essential.”
Tickets cost £29.95 plus VAT for SMEs, or £19.95 plus VAT for community groups or social enterprises. For further information and a booking form call 020 8331 9083 or email business-shortcourses@gre.ac.uk
