Café Scientifique

A1744-Cafe-Scientifique-Professor Mike Bradley, of the Wolfson Centre at the University of Greenwich’s Medway School of Engineering, is to give the inaugural talk at a forum for people interested in science in Medway.

Professor Bradley, pictured, who specialises in materials handling problems, will highlight the explosive nature of custard powder as part of his talk, The Science of Powder, at the newly formed Medway Café Scientifique.

The talk will explore how our lives are reliant on powdered materials and the problems associated with processing, handling and packaging. The event will include opportunities for members of the audience to ask questions.

Medway Café Scientifique begins on Wednesday October 14, at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start, at the Innovation Centre Phase 2, Maidstone Road, Chatham. Admission, which is open to all, is free.

Café Scientifique is an international movement, with groups in towns and cities around the world, which champions lively debate about all aspects of science.
