Jobs boost for Medway

A1739-Jobs-boost-for-MedwayThe University of Greenwich at Medway is building on its reputation as a centre of research excellence with the creation of nine new posts.

The research vacancies have been created at the School of Engineering, the School of Science and at the Natural Resources Institute all based at the campus at Chatham Maritime.

The new Post Doctoral Fellows will be researching projects such as: breast cancer detection methods; bone tissue reconstruction; improving crops’ resistance to disease on farms in sub-Saharan Africa and enhancing the performance of mobile phones.

Dr Stuart Ashenden, Director of Academic Planning at the University of Greenwich at Medway, said: “The creation of these nine research posts reflects the breadth of work of we are undertaking, taking in new and developing disciplines including bioscience, medical advances and wireless communication.

“We have nearly 4,000 students studying at the Medway campus, but we also have a significant research base which is of local, national and international importance.”
