Nutrition expert Dr Tatiana Christides will be exploring the links between obesity and diabetes in a public lecture at the University of Greenwich at Medway on Wednesday, October 21. Dr Christides, a senior lecturer at the university’s School of Science, will be delivering a talk entitled: Land of Too Much Milk and Honey: Obesity and Diabetes in the UK.
The public lecture, one of a series organised by the School of Science, will address such issues as whether obesity is an illness, whether being overweight can give people diabetes, and whether following a Mediterranean diet would solve obesity problems in the UK.
Dr Christides graduated from the University of Chicago and received her medical doctorate from Rush University, in the United States where she practised as a consultant. She has an MSc in Nutrition from King’s College, London.
The lecture in the Wardroom, Pembroke Building, at the University of Greenwich at Medway, will start at 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 21. Admission is free with advance tickets, which are available until Thursday, October 15.
