Health & social care lecture open to all

A1616---lectureMembers of the public and healthcare professionals are invited to an inaugural professorial lecture at the University of Greenwich this Thursday evening.

Professor Elizabeth West of the university’s School of Health & Social Care will examine how social science can contribute to the health and social care sector. She will emphasise the need to produce new empirical evidence and translate research into forms that can be practically applied.

Professor West says: “The focus is on what we can achieve locally, but our goal in the School of Health & Social Care is also to produce research that is relevant internationally and of high quality, to have an impact on policy as well as practice.”

The lecture takes place this Thursday at 6pm in Room 080, Queen Anne Court at the Old Royal Naval College, Park Row, in Greenwich. Refreshments will be served from 5.30pm and after the lecture, when guests will have the opportunity to meet Professor West and discuss her work.

For more details or to attend the lecture, please contact Pauline Rogers on 020 8331 9792 or p.r.rogers@gre.ac.uk
