Centre Provides Flexible Approach to Learning

A1456-Stuart-AshendenHigh quality learning facilities will be available to businesses and local people thanks to the University of Greenwich at Medway’s new Short Course Centre.

The centre, based at the Chatham Maritime campus, has been established to provide a teaching environment designed to meet a range of needs with courses available during the day and after work.

On offer will be a number of taster sessions through to full credit bearing short courses and workshops in a variety of subjects including French, sales and marketing, engineering and project management.

The French courses are new to Medway and will cater for a range of abilities from beginners through to people looking to brush up their skills for use in business or for travelling. People attending some of the courses will also be awarded a certificate on completion.

Dr Stuart Ashenden, Director of Academic Planning, Medway, says: “The centre is a fantastic way for businesses as well as members of the public to come and try a course and see the range of expertise and great facilities we have here at the University of Greenwich.

“These shorter courses give people the chance to have a flexible approach to improving their skills, which they can then use in their work or leisure pursuits.”

The centre is fitted with a suite of networked PCs, as well as, a range of teaching aids such as interactive white boards, a TV and DVD player.
