If You Ever Want A Job, Call Me

A1419-If-you-ever-want-a-job---Joanna-Szulda“If you ever want a job, call me…” That’s what one architecture student found written on a business card, pinned to her degree show.

The card was from Anna Parkinson, a partner at award-winning practice bptw partnership.

Today the student, Joanna Szulda, who has just completed a three-year BA (Hons) architecture degree at the University of Greenwich, is looking forward to working for bptw partnership. She starts next week.

“bptw is a great practice working on a wide spectrum of assignments, from residential houses to community projects”, says Joanna. “I am really pleased to be given this opportunity to become part of their team.”

bptw partnership’s Anna Parkinson says: “I was immediately impressed with Joanna’s flair and innovative design approach and hope we enjoy working together well into the future.

“Our practice welcomes the chance to provide career opportunities for local students on our various, national projects across all sectors.”

Joanna’s degree presentation examined the invisible boundaries in cities that lead people to choose to take a particular route, or indicate a ‘no-go’ area, and some of the gruesome yet poignant physical features of the concentration camps of the Second World War. She also designed a fabulous futuristic shop with pipes flowing down from the ceiling bringing distilled water and flavour options.

Hundreds of students graduate from the University of Greenwich every year with qualifications in architecture, building, quantity surveying, real estate, construction, art and design, landscape and estate management. Employers interested in recruiting students should contact Professor David Isaac, Director of Research & Enterprise on 020 8331 9336, email: d.isaac@gre.ac.uk. Information for prospective students is available on the university website at www.gre.ac.uk
