The opportunity to experience a taste of higher education life, enhance career prospects or develop essential study skills is on offer for free this summer at the University of Greenwich.
Once again the Summer University Learning Programme will be running a number of courses at the Greenwich and Medway campuses as well as programmes based at Bexley College, Canterbury College, Hadlow College and University Centre Folkestone.
A range of subjects can be studied including criminology, time management, academic report writing, critical thinking, IT, maths bridging, introduction to science and creative writing.
The University of Greenwich’s Study Skills and Summer University Co-ordinator Gerry Hudson said: “We are aiming to build on the success we have enjoyed in previous years in running these free courses. They are a great way for existing students to develop their skills as well as a chance for prospective students of any age to find out what university life is all about. This is an open door to learning new skills and an opportunity not to be missed. These courses will enhance skills for university life as well as for current and future employment.”
The courses are being held between Monday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 11, and then from Monday, September 3, to Monday September 10. Most courses run for six three-hour sessions and students completing a Summer University course, and submitting an assessment portfolio, are awarded a university certificate.
