The Kent Ambassadors, led by their chairman Bobby Neame, toured the campus with Professor Alan Reed, University of Greenwich at Medway Director of Regional Liaison, and Marc Hume, Director of Research, Enterprise and Regional Affairs (RERA) for the university.
Professor Reed said: ”I was delighted to welcome the Kent Ambassadors to our campus at Chatham Maritime and show them all the new developments as well as highlighting the major role the University of Greenwich is playing in the universities at Medway initiative.
“The tour included viewing our new laboratories at the Wolfson Centre and, of course, the Drill Hall Library as well as the work nearing completion on the Pilkington Building part of the universities at Medway, a partnership between the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent.
“The ambassadors were keen to learn about future developments being planned to increase further the student accommodation on the campus.”
Kent Ambassadors take an active role in promoting the county and its businesses and organisation across local, regional and national government as well as in a wide range of industries.
Mr Neame said : “Kent Ambassadors were originally set up under Lord Mayhew and as part of their active role in promoting the County of Kent they welcome the opportunity of visiting major organisations in the County.
“They were delighted to have had the opportunity of seeing the campus of University of Greenwich at Medway and learning about the exciting new developments proposed.”
