A documentary by students from the University of Greenwich has been nominated for the prestigious Royal Television Society Student Awards.
'Jeanne, Child of War' is about a child growing up in South London during the Second World War. Director Tim Packham says: "Jeanne was four years old when her mother was killed in the famous V2 rocket attack on Woolworths in New Cross Road, Deptford; 168 people died. In the documentary we re-enact scenes from her childhood and visit the places she remembers"
He says it will appeal to people who lived through the war and anyone who wonders what it was like, including viewers of programmes like 'Who do you think you are?'
Tim and fellow media students Samantha Gardner, Claire Powell and David Gray will find out at the London Regional Awards on Monday (27 November) whether they will go forward to the national competition next May.
Their film supervisor, Dr Mairead McClean, says: "It's great to get recognition in the London finals. It puts the work produced at the University of Greenwich up there with the best"
Notes to editor:

The national awards ceremony is held every May in central London. The Student Television Awards Committee is chaired by Paul Watson.
